yea, but the thing is, WHY is that considered ugly? like, people look like that in real life, that doesn't make them bad or anything! It just feels like it's saying to look one way automatically makes you an awful person, like an "ugly" person is an awful one, but why not make them super kind or something, then they wouldn't always be represented that way.
but are there "ugly" mc's, that by the end of the story don't somehow "fix" themselves? Like in lots of isekai where the mc becomes the villainess, they come in fat but by the end of the first couple of chapters they've "worked themselves into shape." I just think I'd like to see some proper representation for people that actually look like that and don't automatically change right away. Like, have you ever read an isekai where the mc reincarnates or whatever and they STAY fat throughout the story? Like, not going on a diet or their "ugly" birthmark on their face wasn't just paint their dead mother put on them to hid their beauty from the world? Like, why can't they be considered beautiful while still being a little chubby, or having real freckles, or having actual buck-teeth or birthmarks that actually cover some of their face? that's all, sorry for ranting a bit~~
I think they get themselves into shape just because it is unhealthy to stay fat.
This being said, here is a story that you may enjoy:

Basically, everyone looks down on him for how he looks but he kicks everyone's a**.
That belief that people can look as ugly as their personalities is only because of the artists who wanted to find more ways to reflect how bad the characters were, via psihical features. Honestly, the people worth having in your life are does who see behind appearances. Looking on the other side of the coin, being too beautiful can also be a burden, since you will never know if people are there because of your appearance or because you are you. There will be forever an uncertaintly. A balance or average will always be for the best. Any extremes bring undesired consequences.
I don't know why they make all the little villains or enemies fat or bucktoothed or freckled, like to say that only the "ugly" people are evil?! I don't know, but it does kind of bother me to see in all of these types of books. Can't we just get rid of that awful "only-ugly-people-are-villains" trope type? Why can't we have an mc that's actually overweight or freckled or bucktoothed! It's really annoying!! >:(
