From what I read in comments, in the novel, they spent many years while imprisoned together, before they died together. So he DID have a long time to fall for him.That's why I was surprised when that was said in the chapters you mentioned. I felt like he should already love him for all that the uke gave him over those years, but it's not shown in this version.

in chapter 9-10 the story said seme is still unsure about his feelings towards the uke which means he doesnt have romantic feelings yet,,,which i found really special! coz it wont make sense if he feels love towards the uke when they didnt even spent a significant time with each other. usually stories would jump on having romantic feelings right away used as a tool for the plot to go on. this is much more exciting since they'll have much time to develop their feelings this time around kyaaaa
