I saw something a while back saying that he didn't go back like lippe, BUT He does remember some things that happened. He basically dreams about them, like the little piano with music from their past he got lippe for her birthday. He saw it from a dream. He doesn't know what it really is though.

It seems like the duke also travelled back in time and remember his past. Remember the fairy who appeared after she sang, I think she might be related to the duke like maybe his mother!!!? That's why even though he travelled back time, he remembered everything. This is just a theory so I might be wrong. And the reason the grandma didn't remember is probably becasue she died before the fairy reversed back the time and therefore she could not remember.
