some fall into the trap of making their main character a perfect mary sue, leading to take away any emotional investment. I love a flawed character, it shows that they're human as well, when they struggle to overcome obstacles. seeing a character develop and grow instead of being an angel from the start allows me to truly feel as if im on a journey with this character. i hate it when the fl reincarnates into a villainess's body and proceeds to become a literal perfect being, that's not normal nor something i want to read about.

Most of these are my favorite reincarnation manhwas, I really like them because enjoy seeing the characters development and proving they’re intelligent/ having an upper hand. I guess the reincarnation ones just have my preference of OP leads and amount of romance. I also like the family type of doting relationships in there too (this isn’t coming from an only child so I’m pretty lonely) but that’s it :)
A strong mc, not a pushover, smart, thinks about the consequences of his/her decisions, loving personality. Other characters have a purpose for their life, unlike it's just revolving themselves with the mc. Boys or girls popping like flowers in spring when the mc suddenly changes and someones like "woahhhhhhhhhh interesting" and starts annoying the hell out of the mc and suddenly becomes the companion. Overpowered mc all of a sudden, or when one thing can change everything, like how suddenly calling an elder your grandfather made him change his mind about you, and he favors you a lot. Suddenly having a super strong spirit (Like a summon) like the king elf or something, it's so "the mc is the strongest" vibe. When they break something off with someone and they suddenly like or have an interest in them. It sounds dumb to me. When they keep on meeting the love intrest/s like all of a sudden I keep on seeing a boy every chapter while the real person didn't have that. Someone that's not stupid that talks to princes like they're your friends, when you from a lower household. Or when they're married and he's a king you suddenly kick him out the bed or something like just dumb and dumb.
The stories are very repetitive. I like reading them tho sometimes you find one that is more original. But generally it’s the same pattern. Weirdly enough I don’t mind them being predictable it’s kind of comforting. They do get boring sometimes but I always find myself daydreaming after reading one. I read and watched literally hundreds of novels, animes and mangas with very similar plots yet I’m always looking for more lol
That's true! It gives the character a very clear motivation instead of something vague. Plus, it is satisfying to see the mc get their revenge! but I think that sometimes having those annoying characters, if written well enough, could help make the mc more relatable/human if that makes sense?
Thanks! I've already read/am reading all the ones I'm interested in though. Mostly I want to try and write an isekai story!
It is cathartic to read about a character that overcomes or struggles with their flaws! A perfect mc is fun at times but it's hard to become emotionally attached to the character. It just becomes boring really. Plus, that journey with a character as they grow and overcome things is really good story telling imo !!
I think if the fl becomes a villainess, they should have flaws!!!! Villians aren't supposed to be perfect to begin with lol
That's true, I feel the same way lol I want to go on a journey with the mc! I want to explore the new world they live in, which is what keeps me so interested when reading or watching !
I think for a similar plot, If the characters or if the plot is told in a new or intresting way, it can make it worthwhile!
I've been seeing lots of reincarnation and isekai manga and anime lately. Maybe it's just me finally noticing them lol but what do you guys think? Do you enjoy them? I think quite a few are good and super intresting! Others are a bit predictable and boring BUT what do you think makes a good isekai/reincarnation story?
