He's also dumb. The Prince describe his past life to indicate who is it that he loves and he still has no clue... I mean, what does he need to do anymore to make it clear? A drawing? An Officer who investigates has no clue... nothing to add...
To be fair thought the prince seems to have a hard time not being a dick to Louis. I'd have a hard time believing it too if one of my high school bullies admitted they always had wanted to date me. In truth beating about the bush like this is the princes fault or inability to recognize what the appropriate behavior is at this moment, which is to confess and then try to win him over by being a decent human being.
I maybe wrong because I read this on the fly but it is no where to be found that the prince was a bully to him in the past, quite the contrary. He is being a total scumbag to him now and I do understand he would have a hard time believing he's in love with the protagonist. But come on, childhood friend, high school together and you don't get he feels something for you? He even said at the beginning that they were in such good terms before!
