I read both josei and yaoi and there is no comparison, Josei is mostly garbage. One can actually say that there are a lotttt of wholesomes yaoi bls with a good plot and even the toxic ones at least attempt to have some kind of plot, but most josei ones have the laziest writing ever with the most unlikeable characters, i always end up so disappointed
