For me I think this is still Yaoi because it involves relationship between two males. Though it doesn't mean they need to end up with each other but I've read cases like that too and it's still considered as Yaoi. Is this manhwa not considered Yaoi by the author by any chance?
Yes the author never called her Manhua a yaoi, and she said:
“I’ve never planned to write a love story”
And it’s just my opinion but I think that if the story comport an homosexual relationship it doesn’t mean it deserve the tag “yaoi”
Well Yaoi means mangas that involves gay sex and not just romance it can be a manga with no romance and sex so it can be labelled as yaoi

But I have the feeling that at the beginning sangwoo just wanted a toy or a remplacement to his mother, Yoon Bum just wanted someone who pay attention to him.
At the end their relationship was just a fucked up love
