Oh god, why her!?

LallaLa March 7, 2016 12:53 am

Hi guys~~
Just asking this out of curiosity and it sounds like a interesting question. Do you guys have any author who you usually avoid reading or just think "oh god, her/him"
I do not wish to insult anyone, so just take this as a simple question for personal taste. In my case would be Minami Haruka, Ootsuki Miu and Hoshino Lily. There are more but I can't remember their names
( ̄∇ ̄"). These three just left a bad taste in my mouth, but I don't like their style nor the plot
(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ. What about you all? Or am I the only one?

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean other's can't enjoy her work! If dark stories aren't your cup of tea then that's fine, but a story being dark doesn't automatically mean it sucks and doesn't deserve ... asonrody

Oh come on, you have opinions about cheating so yeh her work sucks and shouldn't be popular.

Oh god, when I was 11 or 12 I actually had a friend over. We were new to yaoi so we were careless and way too overexcited about it. We read one of her works on my computer (I'll Tie You Up, Kiss You, And Fuck Y... asonrody

Bet you learned to be more secretive after that. Once I was reading yaoi at school and a classmate got me, the whole school and even my parents thought I was gay, we even had the "talk". I didn't deny, though I am not, they still think I am (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

I love reading the yaoi manga Under Grand Hotel. But I avoid reading her other works because the characters all look VERY similar to one another. It just weirds me out, especially the character design for Sen. It's almost the same design in each manga. I know a mangaka has a specific style and some of their characters end up looking the same or similar but she really pushes it for me. Lol

I've never said anything about cheating in this thread, so you probably mixed me up with a previous poster. Manga is fiction, if you don't wanna read a dark story then just don't, no one is forcing you.

My mom thought I was a lesbian too after that, lmao. It's such an awkward talk, especially when you're not even gay. :P I got caught a lot when I was a preteen, actually. My mom found doujinshis and yaoi mangas I bought and I was just really bad in general at hiding my yaoi. I only read yaoi in my room now and my parents never barge in, so I'm pretty safe from getting caught now. (=・ω・=)

But admitting you like something is good. Do they still have doubts about your sexuality? It's so strange to be thought of as gay when you definitely are not ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Yeah but I'm sure majority here hates cheating stories, I for one agree that mangas are fiction but people kept bitching about it and ironically still read it. Like, don't like then stop reading and commenting.

And to that Ogawa hater just don't read it then, you're being like cheater haters here.

Nope, my mom thinks I don't read yaoi anymore so it hasn't been a problem. It is, especially when it's not even uncommon for straight girls to be into. People don't assume a guy looking at yuri or stuff like that is gay, so why is it that different when it's a girl reading yaoi? (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

I have no idea why people keep on reading mangas that have stuff they hate. I don't go bitching in the comments when a manga has a girly uke, I just close the tab and read something else.

    Humm
Well, some people consider yaoi as "porn", although it is not, it is much more uncommon for a woman to read or watch straight porn, so gay porn is probably strange in the eyes of others. Besides, man usually desire for a threesome with two girls, which would probably have some lesbian stuff in the ship too.
But I wish people would stop calling yaoi manga with some wonderful plot as " gay porn". It's actually romance, it's comedy, it's drama, it's so many things I can't possibly finish

I know right! Like Drug candy for example. The main mc cheats by having sex with a young girl but haters keep complaining. Like shut up and leave, so yes, if you don't like then don't read people. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I am probably going to get hated for mentioning this author, but i honesty avoid all manga's created by Yamane Ayano. The sex and the characters are top notch and hot, my only complain with it is that out of the 3 manga's (i've read) created by this author the uke's gets molested/raped so easy. Not of her uke's have a strong personality or a backbone, most of them require the seme to swoop in and save the day. I least try to fight back a bit, If fighting it's impossible than ill understand, but if you just sit back and scream "No" without trying to get your self out of the situation than i'll hate it. (Don't want to take the chance in reading her other works since I've been disappointed 3 times)

Nah, I totally get you. I am not a big fan of hers either. They don't have much personality, they are just "characters" which you can't really bring to life since they are boring. But just so you won't be hated by yourself, I don't like the author of haru wo daite ita, Nitta Youka or something
I don't like her drawing style nor the characters. They are either shallow, too forgiving, or lack backbone.

No i don't think so and why would you get hated it's a personal opinion. Not unlike that ogawa hater who acts like she's god and her opinions are absolute. *snorts.
So yeah, most of yamano's non-fan has similar reasons for disliking her. On the other hand, her fans like her for different reasons too But takaba's pretty spunky tho? Maybe this is a clash of cultures case.

Takaba fit's the character with no back bone, he is the one uke i hate the most in her manga's. I read the series and there are to many scenes that make me hate him. The manga has a big "warning: Avoid this manga, i repeat avoid this manga."
But yeah i understand she is quite popular and i don't really care if people like her, i just avoid her like a plague cause i don't like her. I do love her sex scenes tho "hot and nose bleed material" :3
Only those who accept that there are other who don't share the same taste wouldn't be mad if someone expresses that they dislike so and so. I love ogawa chise and i understand why some people dislike her but i won't go as far as a certain anon who hates everyone who reads it. Although, i added "the probably" reason because they are hard core fans who jump the gun when someone says i hate them. If your mature and understand people's opinion than there won't be any hate.

As much as I love these authors' works, I usually read manga to shut my brain off so I avoid mangas that are tagged as "Psychological" or "Drama" by these authors: Harada, Nakamura Asumiko, Miyamoto Kano and Ogawa Chise. I really like their works but I just don't want to feel more broken sometimes lol

    Doldrums March 7, 2016 7:09 am
Yeah. Ogawa Chise. Her manga sucks because they're dark, blackmail, rape, abuse, ugh, she is a sicko! That's why caste haven doesn't deserve to be popular! @Anonymous

Hahaha I know I'm gonna regret not ignoring this cause reaching out to someone across the Internet usually doesn't work, but I can't help myself. So here' goes: I like dark stories (I also like light stories, but that's irrelevant.), and as for Ogawa Chise, I like most of her work. You're not being very tactful in your speech, but go ahead and say "her manga sucks" or "doesn't deserve to be popular." I'll just say I disagree. But here's where I think you're wrong. Writers of dark stories aren't automatically "sickos" (though some can be). Someone who writes about blackmail, rape, or abuse is definitely a blackmailer, rapist, or likes to abuse others? I think not. They explore the depths of human depravity because it's part of our curious nature. How far will humans fall when we give into our desires? How corrupt can we become? It's an important question that has been pondered for time immeasurable. Dark stories can be lessons that warn people to overcome our darkest desires. And Ogawa-sensei addresses this question in her manga. You don't have to like dark stories. Many people don't (Well, actually violent stories seem to be especially popular these days. Caste Heaven may owe some popularity to that.). Just don't call their creators sickos. It's an unreasonable misconception.
