I dont understand why the author keeps to design mc's house as if It is being handled totally careless lol. The MC may be poor but there's no need to make him as if he is lazy tô take care about his home.

There is literally mold and fungus everywhere. It looks dingy. Old buildings, if well maintained from inside, don’t necessarily look like that. My grandmother lives in an old slave quarter house. It looks fine (minus the faulty piping/flooring).

He didnt grow up in that room. It was probably like that before he rented it. And such rooms have a low rent. I lived in such a flat once. And even if I removed the mold it grew back because if it rained it would rain inside a little bit. And the mold grew back stronger everytime.

I guess I feel like this character is very meticulous. I think showing him in a cramped run older room would have sufficed, but the mold/dilapidation of It just did not match with his personality
