I wanna ask but it kinda contains SPOILER

Are the extra chapters of the novel worth reading? I read 1 or 2 chapters of the extra but penelope's behaviour change so much. She's not like how she was at the start of the stories (she was calculating, rational, etc which i really liked), but she became like... a child throwing tantrum..?? I dont really know, its just that i feel she became the cliche girl in cliche romance stories...?

Anyway that was my opinion, i really want to read all the extra chapters but i feel like she just kinda change to the worse...

it depends if you can bare with it, as much as I like how calculating she was on the extra chapters in the novel...

it recently brought up a bad point for her being (deceiving)

if the novel was translated correctly as they say, in the final main story chap she said something along the lines of "marrying a rich man isn't so bad" which was forwarded to Callisto, implying that she IS to be married to him.

the point where i thought she was a bit deceiving is when Callisto asked her to marry him, which should have been automatic due to the sentence "marrying a rich guy isn't so bad" she instead rejects him, and made him wait for like YEARS, FIVE to be exact.

the reason was because of a promise to her mother, and her wanting to live as an archeologist.

on the five years though, after rejecting him like 3-4 times, or maybe just 2-3, they are actually ENGAGED after the rejection.

and boy oh boy it kind of showed how toxic the relationship turned out to be.

instead of love, penelope's affection for callisto felt like it was DEBT.
no matter how much the narration tries to solidify it isn't, it showed time and time again that it IS.

    Callisto's love for penelope was...good.
willing to wait for her answer, willing to do anything for her.
willing to even give up his life for her.
so much so that if pen actually leaves he'd cry himself to sleep or off himself.

the main reason why i concluded the relationship to be toxic was.

Callisto from the extra's was weirdly written, he became a bit too aggressive, then a bit too forcefull, my memory can't exactly jot down which part it was that he had gotten a bit like that.

Then penelope, became a bit of a push-over when it came to that.
not to mention, she has hurt callisto one too many times, her love for him felt like it was out of debt than actuall love, and by the time they we're both in a relationship, SHE WAS STILL QUESTIONING HER FEELINGS.

Thank you so much for your explanation! I remember when i was reading the extras of penelope rejecting the crown prince i feel soo irritated at her. And even after in a relationship she still questions her feelings? That made me feel kinda bad for callisto, but maybe its because he became forceful like you said?
Again, thank you for explaining you even wrote paragraphs about it! Thank you thats so kind of you (⌒▽⌒)
