Because once you are in a bad relationship it is not easy to leave it. Especially in Daisy's case she was both emotionally abused to make her feel worthless without him and financially abused so she literally could not leave him to name a few. Besides just because you have a great male friend that is supportive doesn't mean you will develop romantic feelings for them.
I just find it odd, to start with, how we JUST find out about this guy, at least for me, it seems bad writing in that aspect.
I get her situation, that's why I did not say "why did she not elope with this guy?" both were in a terrible condition, I get it, I feel bad for both :(
I just don't understand her feelings, why easily falling for the duke, who, until now I thought it was because he was the first person to treat her with respect, but now that is not the case anymore.
I still like the story, don't get me wrong, I think is good enough, time will tell for sure, but for me, this guy seems to only come into the picture in order to fall for Daisy, and have a non-reciprocal love, AND to make the duke jealous, so he can realize his feelings.
She hasn't fallen for the Duke(yet), and I really hope the designer dosen't fall in love with her....that would just add drama to the plot and make it uselessly cliché
If Daisy and Killian's relationship developed just because of jealousy, that would suck because jealousy alone isn't enough to push a character to overcome their part traumas, they should have to want to overcome it themselves
Well I guess we'll see how the author writes it, and hopefully they write it with depth and not just "killian gets jealous, then realizes daisy is his one true love"

Sorry, your initial message sounded a lot like victim blaming to me. My misunderstanding. Unfortunately, while Daisy is a good thinker, there is no other way for her. The writer will follow the cliché of poor girl with rich guy. However, she initially got together with the Duke so she could not marry within her life time. To be comfortable... set up her life with the Duke's resources during their contract time period and then be free and single! However, the story must include romance... soooo the rich and powerful guy is the only option as the ML (/TДT)/
I don't understand how she did not fall for this guy? I mean, she is not in looooooove~ with the Duke yet, but she's starting to feel things, yet nothing for this guy who stuck up
for her? GIRL.
I hope I don's sound like one of those nice guys, but I really don't get it, is not like you can't have male friends, but she is falling rather quickly for a guy she had to break her back for to impress, and while she was narrating her, oh so sad backstory, this guy didn't pop out even once, and we are at 35 chapters so far.
