Basically the angels are trying to make the ml a fully fledged angel so he can join them and things be like they were before he became an incubus but to do so there were conditions hence the memory wipe ect. So then now in this 'new world' he has to resist temptation aka the mc to become an angel. Now with the guys around the mc i beleive theyre there and doing all that to prevent ger from remembering the ml so the transition can go smoothly
