I know exactly what you mean! I graduate HS in January and it's terrifying thinking about how you have to choose a major. Have you tried looking at jobs listings and seeing if you could be up for one job, and then looking more into the major required? I took Forensic Science last year and liked it, so I've been considering doing Criminology. As long as I can find a major that doesn't bore me to death and has a good amount of jobs, I don't care if I'm passionate about it or not. Scary stuff, man. （￣へ￣）

I did look, my problem is I'm a diamond digger, I dont want to kiss rich bottoms to climb, I want to live decent, because honestly, i didnt choose this, yaoi stories about living situations pushed me into this corner! I thought being an architect sounds nice because it have a mix of everything I like but...there's too many ppl who are way more creative and the maps and plans literally sent me running...and I thought maybe a multimedia artist but pfft, that's last year's dream, psychiatrist sounds lovely except I only want to listen to the psychopathic people, not normal ones, I also considered criminology at some point but I realized I'm too dumb for that, I'll probably end up helping INCREASE crime rate instead. ;-;

I feel you 100%! I was considering being a teacher since I've liked working with kids and I would also love to continue to be active in the online school community after I graduate, but I'm pretty shy and quiet so that wouldn't be the best choice for me obviously lol. It really sucks when you don't have something you're great at or really passionate about, since it puts you in a bit of a limbo. As long as I get a decent paycheck, I'm happy I suppose. ┑(￣Д ￣)┍

You know what, that's true, why am I looking to be a billionaire again lol? I should just choose something that piques me....then...that puts me back to square one, I dont have anything that interest me enough, traveling sounds really nice but there at only so many places on earth :( I'm sure being a parent of a child attending school might put u right back into the school community(something I'd personally avoid at all cost) kids nowadays are getting meaner and meaner and yep...being a teacher never even made it on my list.

Maybe see if you can talk to architects and see how they do everything? They may give you tips that can help you improve! Yeah, middle school kids are terrifying, lmao. I'll probably just stick to volunteering with elementary kids.

Explore more and broaden your horizons; you are right about trying everything. The thing is though, by trying everything, you scatter your energy everywhere and it probably leaves you exhausted. Spend more time with each thing you try before trying something else otherwise you will never know what you like because you spent minimal time with it. Like me, trying to find something you like by trying everything out with only a little time left doesn’t work out and only end up wanting to get it over with as soon as possible. You already know what your weak points are and strong points are. Who knows you better than yourself? How will you know that you will regret something that you have never done before? I get what you mean about not wanting to focusing on one subject only and ONLY one subject; but when you go looking for careers, that is exactly what they want. They want to see you excel at that certain something because that job requires that skill. If you have skills all over the place then those won't be of any use to anyone; if you excel at something, you need to keep developing it. As for college, most people change their majors two or three times when they get into college, so it isn't that big of a deal. Sure, majors are important when deciding which college to go to, but there are other important things too, like its location, size, and other factors. Just make sure you don't become one of those people who change their majors all the time and end up going to college for like 17 years. You know what you like and don't like, so you already have a good start and you know what NOT to look for. Unfortunately, people, like you said, aren't usually fortunate enough to find jobs that intrigue and interest them. If you can find a job that you don't totally detest, then you would be more fortunate than the rest of the human population. It takes time to find something you like, but isn’t it worth it? My best advice to you from my rant is: chill out.

it's true and most of time, I try nee things and gets lazy and never try it again because my mind automatically told me it's not going to work out(I recently tried Java scripting...and yeah...no..too high tech) I want to stop worrying about these things but I've procrastinated for too long(and we've ALL at some point seen the results of procrastination). I just want to chill and do things my pace but I'm running out of time. Fast.

But architecture blueprints looks hella frightening, it's like looking at a code, u dont understand any of it. Scary kids starts young nowadays, too young for my liking, because the highschool kids influence their siblings who are in middle school nd who in turn, influence the younger kids..not to mention media is very much involve

If you have just graduated high school taking a year off I completely normal and often recommended u can take one or two years off and most colleges look on that fondly. When I say this I don't mean that you play video games in your basement all year but do something good for the community. When you show that you want to make an impact you have a higher rate of getting into college. So feel free to take one or two years off while figuring it out. No need to stress yet. Just make sure that during those two years you do something meaningful during those years. What that is is completely up to you. You could draw up a plan for a new homeless shelter (good for architectural schools) or volunteer outside the country for the peace core while perhaps taking photos or drawing (good for art on photography schools) I'm not sure if this was what you were looking for but I hope you succeed because I totally get you

Exactly lol procrastination is the bane of my life. Time really does go by quickly, and it's already march and it just makes us think what the hell we have been doing with our lives. Are you a senior or junior? If you are a senior then you really are screwed(⊙…⊙ ) If you wanted to, you could go to a community college and then transfer into a school; some of their programs can help you explore at a lower cost before you decide to get your degree.

Wow, I'm in the same boat, then. I had no idea what to choose, so I chose what I liked most; story writing and anything related to it. Means; IT. Just ask yourself, what do you like? Then, you'll find your answer :)

Choosing a major was hard for me too. I sat around wondering what I should do with my life. Eventuall, I took a giant leap of faith and chose a major that I vowed I'd never be good at. I'm an actress. I major in theatre with a focus on acting. I had tremendous stage fright as a child and I was extremely isolated and introverted as a teenager. I always dreamt of being an actress but thought that I couldn't do it because I don't have Hollywood glamour. But that's not true. I am majoring i theatre and I am one of the most popular actors in my department. Anyway, the whole point of this story is that I think you should choose something that you've secretly always wanted to do but felt you aren't good enough or aren't suited for it. Thas what I thought about acitng but I jumped into it and now I can't go back because it's something I'm good at.
