Yeah but that's just one version of it. The story from Iliad however just says Hades genuinely loved Pers and treated her with respect. It was his subordinates that whispered Pers to eat the pomegranate to bind her to the underworld. Hades regretted that because he never wanted to tie Persephone to the underworld.
Like all these comments, over thousands of years there have been many versions including Greek, Roman, Egyptian, etc. of like stories of Persephone. These stories take in cultural and political aspects of the times. My favorite version is when she was kidnapped and Hades didn’t force himself on her. He tried to win her over, which he did. Anyway, I love that this story will hopefully have fans doing research on the ancient writings from history of all cultures. It’s so interesting you’ll lose yourself in it
People are talking about persephone and how it’s romantic but... she was actually abducted and raped. No hate to this manga but just an FYI I guess?
