I thought Jin woo placed a shadow on everyone he cared about? He has such an abundance of them
About the shadow, Jin Woo had to use Jinho's shadow for this shadow traveling thing and forgot to replace it, and Hwang Dong Su beats Jinho quite often and he nearly dies, but Hwang Dong Su has also an healer to make sure he doesn't (At least in the novel)
At least he is alive. Somehow I have a feeling he is gonna engage jinwoo in a psychological battle instead of a physical one...maybe a physical one too but also psychological like how the joker does it in Batman. Since he knows he can’t physically beat jinwoo or at least has a n insurance in case he thinks he can’t
Honestly what everyone in the comments is saying is totally true, Hwang Dong Su is a big Idiot without a brain and he definetly missjudged Jin Woo. I think in the novel he thought Thomas Andre was his insurence, because in Thomas eyes Hwang Dong Su is a "posession of the scavengers". Unfortunaly he also kinda misjudges his own value...

But maybe he is smart and would keep jinho in a separate location and at a certain command, he’d be dropped in a vat of acid or intricate time gas bomb that would set off from the slightest movement. I’d seriously approach this situation the way joker and thoroughly mindfuck the guy.
But I don’t think hwan dong su is smart cuz otherwise he would have posed as an infuriating challenge for jinwoo from the first encounter
Easy there, you have quite the scary imagination... but yeah overconfidence would be fitting, I think he also lacks the brain to realize someone can be actually stronger than him...
