There’s more to it too. I don’t entirely remember, but both ML and I think it was the author is cursed as well (3 cursed in total). So there was a theory that the author is writing this book so that the other two could finally fall in love or something like that and break their curse. Also specific curses, I think it was that the FL curse was that she would somehow kill her child in ever reincarnation and I forgot the ML and author’s curse.
