She reincarnated as a kid though. So she had more than enough time to adjust and get used to their ways. Also, considering the fact that she couldn't escape, and that the kids who didn't do well were killed (as seen when her brother Ashil failed his coming of age exam) it makes sense that "someone from our law abiding world" as you put it would act like this. It wasn't sudden. She grew up in this environment and had to fend for herself.
The difference between OG Roxy and MC is that since our MC read the novel, she knew she would be in deep shit if she just kinda existed like the OG did.
Honestly I think the whole isekai thing is fine. It's not a fact that's constantly brought up and MC seems to genuinely consider herself to be Roxanne, so it feels like the author made it an isekai just to set the plot in motion.
Idk maybe it's just not for you. And in that case I hope you'll find somehing that's more to your liking.
Anyway, have a nice day/evening.
Well.... her back story is already dark enough. Seeing your only brother getting killed by another family member is no joke. But I do agree that isekai plot was kinda unnecessary. And it's like the only lame part of the story. Can one not be able to make the right decision (Saving Cassis) without knowing the future !!!
She's literally been in this body since she was reborn. Yeah, she was isekaid, but she was in this body for years and in an environment that taught her survival of the fittest. She saw her brother, the boy she'd been with since birth--her best friend--killed in front of her for being useless. She had to eventually start killing illusions of him. I'd go batshit crazy, too. The laws of our world are irrelevant in this world if you don't want to have your head chopped off and get fed to the animals. You say "maybe if she went through a dark phase like mind break." She DID. This wasn't all of a sudden. This was YEEEEEEEARS.
Granted, I wouldn't necessarily call her batshit crazy, so much as cold and calculating. You do what you have to in order to survive. The isekai element is necessary here for the exact reason she states in the beginning: she's the sister of a minor villain whose family kills the FL's brother and ends up dead, the brother's death likely being a big motivation.
If Roxanna hadn't known, she wouldn't have given a shit and let Kassian die anyways.
I honestly think Roxanna was broken. She is beyond PTSD at this point. She lived a new life here, it was her home. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she regressed back into an infant like state after being in an infant and then toddler's body for so long.
Arrey baba...what I mean when I said mind break was that it makes no sense for her who is normal and sane to be the one chosen for the isekai,it has nothing to do with the novel plot and actions..The novel itself is really gorey and dark..they should've atleast chosen a person who has some relation to the story's plot...that's what I meant..Nothing in relation with the story, only the super random isekai threw me off..
The author should've given the mc a more tragic back story. This stupid isekai plot throws everything off.The mc should've been from the original novel itself, the whole vibe of a normal everyday nobody teen from our world thrown into the novel ruins the whole plot feel.
Maybe if the mc had gone through some super dark phase(mind break torture, rape),it doesn't make sense for someone from our law abiding world to act like a batshit crazy maniac all of a sudden :( they should've kept the original roxxane, maybe add in the time travel stuff or the lucia novel dream concept...anything would've worked but the author just had to pull the overused isekai plot on us :((
