im assuming you didn’t grow up poor huh. It’s difficult when it comes to things like this and I can understand where she’s coming from. She has her faults but honestly I like the fact that she couldn’t tell them right away. It makes her more human (although i got heavy secondhand embarrassment) and I think that a decent amount of people who grew up with similar backgrounds can relate to her. As for her friends, she barely met them a few months ago. She really has no reason to trust them and doesn’t know them that well enough to see if they’ll treat her differently because she’s poor. I think she handled the situation with rumors very well by telling the girl her honest thoughts and getting a different perspective on the situation rather than just gossip
