I totally agree but in getting the poison if he was to blend in with some village how could he get it since it seems to be kept within the sects
Well I think it would give him a good chance to practice his stealth and plus not all poisons are within the sects he could also take the chance to learn more about different poisons he could make off of the land instead of getting them from the sects and learn how to make it by himself as well but since he dived right into revenge everyone is after him now

Also am I the only one who feels like he should have waited before starting his revenge? I like how he jumped right into it but at the same time he even said it himself he doesn't know what is happening in the outside world I would have liked to see him become accustomed to the world and get more poison and be 10000% prepared
