You guys need to think abt the fact that jennette is a sheltered teenager and the differences between manhwa jennette and novel jennette. I don’t know if any of you know, but Spoon is currently getting a lot of hate for deviating from the book, of which, there are rumors going around that the book has plagiarized. Jennette was just dragged along with all of this and she is a v.i.c.t.i.m. At age 14, being dragged around everywhere by older men who manipulate her she is almost a mirror of what teenage girls on the internet go through. What is she supposed to do in this situation? She only just found out that her entire life had been a lie, a close relative recently passed away, now she has to deal with her estranged father implying that he will kill Athy, the person she loves the most, and her dad. She is acting like a naive teenager yes, but that is no reason for her to get this amount of hate. Where is she supposed to find courage to stand up for herself when all her life she’s been alone? She was neglected and it’s shown she is in a very poor state of mind right now. To her, her uncle ignored her when she was drowning, her cousin has been very busy and doesn’t like the thought of being related to her, and her father is trying to use her. She is all alone and knows no one else. Tell me. What is she supposed to do? I implore you all to find some empathy in your hearts for this girl.

She has never wanted to replace Athy, she never wanted to be princess, she only ever wanted a family, and is that so wrong?

there's one thing that she supposed to do: stand up for yourself.

thats it though, stand up for yourself is literally she needed to do these chapters she's alone for years and pretty naive for her age but i supposed all those years she might have any knowledge like any nobles do, like, any small knowledge about how to do things right, am i right?? she might have know about how to get better, how to cope with things, what to do... not thinking about family, wanting family, wanting love, but what is "she" supposed to do in this case i think that is what she should think right now instead being confused or what because right now, she's being used by her stupid father, she's being manipulated and she's alone right now no one to lean on so i hope she snapped out about this situation and she should stand up for herself like right now cuz i feel bad for her, and think for a better way on what to do

and i get why people are hating on this poor girl, that is because people are getting used by the characters that are smart and anything, like very strong, and Jeannette is not like any of those but all smiley and butterflies thats all she does and i get that cuz Ejeckiel's father forbids her to not do anything that is a rush or without him knowing so i understand that but in this age, like any other person do, we always stand up for ourselves cuz we dont want to be used by other people because teens... ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I suppose you do have a point, but I don’t get how you can’t be understanding of the fact of how hard it must be for her, since she’s only ever been told to listen to what she’s told and nothing else. Again, her close relative was just killed and her whole life was just found out to be a lie. I wouldn’t be surprised if her mentality right now is extremely weak. Plus, what is gonna happen if she sticks up for herself? Ijekiel’s dad literally is in charge of her, her roof, everything. And I highly doubt he was going to listen to her, thinking that her becoming princess would be the best option. Now, she’s got her “dad” looking over her shoulder. Of course with everything going on, it’s natural to assume Athy wouldn’t help her, nor anyone else. She knows no one else, plus it’s hard to ask for help. Is it really so hard to support someone like this instead of hating her to the bone? There are people that exist that aren’t manipulative geniuses and are timid. It’s not possible that these people would be the object of everyone’s hate, right? I don’t think everyone would sit down to study every day single day either. I really don’t believe in the idea of victim blaming.

Wanting a family is not wrong, but ruining a family is morally very wrong. Athy doesnt mind Jeanette as a sister. Athy is afraid of getting abandoned, forgotten and killed. Just because Athy is stronger than Jeanette doesnt mean Athy doesnt have her insecurities.

Yes, I agree that Jean is receiving unnecessary hate. But Jean is kinda too naive and pure which can turn toxic any time. Jean is a kinda person that gets cozy with people who are actually nice to her and fake nice to her. Jean cant differentiate between them. Moreover, Athy had warned Jeanette not to get close "that guy" (The king's bro, i forgot his name).
Athy even told that his activities are really sus. But did she listen? No. She just thought Athy had misunderstood "that guy". Jean just sees what she wants to.

About becoming a family, Athy, Jean and the Dad (The king) need to talk it out rather than Jean overthinking stuff.

its not really a victim blaming or anything, people are just annoyed by someone who is just naive and sometimes are very frustrated even just small things what Jeannette is doing... i know she just lost her aunt, her whole life was a lie, everything is about to go downhill for her and i know its been so hard for her but she needs to stay strong because the world is not full of fantasies, love, family, butterflies anything and we want her to stop thinking about anything and want her to think about the situation she's in thats all we need to ask for her: stay strong.

If she has no one to talked to, or anything, then only she can rely on herself if there's no one who can help her. Only she can help yourself, its just how the world is about its about you helping yourself to get back on your feet with or without to rely on, and only you can understand that, only you can think of the ways to get help from someone, to get support from someone, and to stay strong and survive.

If asking for help, there's still one, Ejekiel. Ejekiel is still available from here she could ask for help from him or even an advice, even its just SOOOO LITTLE thats it, just a small word from him its a huge help for someone like her it could be a hint for her to stay strong and can be a huge help to save the kingdom from her "father" and not just her, to Athy, Athy is not hard for her to ask help since they're close, maybe its a lil bit harder from now on since they already found out who's behind those black magic or sumn, it'll be hard for her to ask Athy for sure, but its still not too late, if she can gather even small information just from her surroundings, and she can tell this to Athy, by letter is the best choice for her tell things to Athy but the best option is to confront her about it tho i mean idk either oof

Jennette has no idea that she’s even ruining a family, she’s out of the loop and doesn’t know what’s happening at all. Yes athy has her insecurities and I’m not saying the we should choose one over the other. Both girls have had it rough and both girls deserve to be happy. Athy has her insecurities and jennette has her insecurities but the difference is how they react their problems and how they’re being treated right now. In the previous life would people be bashing on athy for not standing up for herself or for looking after jennette? These girls are teenagers except for the fact that athy has the memories of an adult from modern day. I don’t think jennette was in the wrong for trusting someone who was nice to her. For all she knows, her “dad” and athy DID get off on the wrong foot. She knows nothing except for the fact that he is nice to her and athy doesn’t like him and doesn’t give her a reason as to why she should look out either. For some one who’s gotten little love in her life, it isn’t hard to believe that she would trust so willingly.

Yes, I whole heartedly agree that we should be wishing that jennette should stay strong and endure. This whole experience right now is her seeing that what she thought the world was like isn’t like the world at all. But again, she is 14 years old and we’ve never seen her studying and from just looking, you can tell she hasn’t gotten extensive education either.(which makes sense considering the time period+setting) is a child supposed to rely on themselves for everything? Again that seems like neglect to me. Saying what she should do, blaming her IS victim blaming. Telling her, who’s obviously had a far from normal life, that she should’ve told someone? Or that she should’ve done this or that? Like telling an abuse victim “why didn’t you call cps” or a rape victim “why didn’t you tell anyone.” It’s precisely that. I don’t think we’ve seen a scene where jennette and Ijekiel have talked to eachother after the part where he rejects her and says he’s openly pursuing athy, which made it v awkward imo. Even so, they are both so caught up in their own problems, and jennette is probably experiencing whiplash from everything happening at once. Heck, everyone is. Even if she stood up for herself, what would it be against? “Hi, you’re my dad and you tried to protect me, also you made me finally reveal myself as a princess. I have no idea that you’re manipulating me, but stop manipulating me.” Or “Hi Mr. White. You tell me that I’m a princess and I need to hide myself away to cover my eyes and eventually I’ll get revealed and be happy, but I actually don’t want to hide away. I want to go outside where you said I can’t go and might risk revealing myself and everything will be ruined.” Jennette is totally out of the loop. She has no idea what’s going on and people are hating her for it.

Even then, she is a normal person. Her close relative died, her whole life was a lie, there’s a fight for a throne, everyone seems complicated all of a sudden, is she supposed to be in the state of mind to be observant and do something? Who knows what’s gonna happen, though. Only the next update can tell.
