OK like seriously how can Jeanette be so fucking empty headed?! What makes her think her presence would be welcome at all in the palace? Even if she and Athy were sisters, because jeanette is older she would technically be next in line for the throne, therefore causing a fight for succession among the nobility as to who would be better suited as the next ruler, the younger princess raised and taught in thr palace vs the older one that suddenly showed up. Now that its revealed that she's the previous emperor's child, the emperor who was said to be a horrible tyrant mind you, its almost a certainty that her presence is going to drive a deep rift between those that support the previous emperor and Claude's supporters. Its basic politics in any monarchy.
