hh the only story i found that did a complete undercover is tomb raider king. also, i believe it's like that for the readers to easily distinguish the characters. it might be a slight modification to us but in the pov of the characters it's a whole different face.
honestly, makeup if done the right way with prosthetics and skill as well as techniques can do wonders so i'm not really suprised she can do that.
even without prosthetics, makeup can change the way you look entirely.

Tbh, I'm sick of tropes where the fl wears a pair of glasses or puts on makeup and all of a sudden she's completely unrecognizable. But then again people can't recognize my mother just because she has her hair tied differently -.-
