was the monkey thing just suppose to be some kinda metaphor for any male she might marry at some point?
Yes, I think, the mc is a brother and since it's about the marriage of her sister (her body to be precised), he's projecting other men as monkey.

interesting... i'm a bit confused on the timeframe though...
at the very beginning when he first went into his sister's body he mentioned something about in the future she marries a monkey person... thus implying he's been sent back to the past...
then when we get to the beginning of the "test" the Ansel guy shows up and they mention how he was the only survivor of the incident where he stabbed MC... which implies this story is taking place in the present, not the past...
so what was all that about his sister marrying a monkey person and having a monkey person baby "in the future" (which would be the past for MC's perspective)?
