omg same! I was looking for a comment like this. He literally choose someone else instead of himself. He had a passion and let go of it, because of love.

College is something you choose for yourself!!!! It's your life and future not anyone else's!

You should be happy with what career you choose and the life that's you will lead.
Not for your parents, friends, partner, etc.
I enjoyed the story but the college situation left a bad taste in my mouth.
