I don't get why the author made them reincarnate and have memories of when they were 18 from their past lives. Their reasoning and actions make them seem like actual 5 year olds. It's only on random occasions do they go, "oh, we're actually 23 inside". But nothing they do or say even indicate a maturity level of a 23 year old.

I don't blame them tho they're still children they grew up just to become a punching bag for a purple bitch even if they did they were helpless in that situation

First off, I would like to remind people that this is a story, the author can write it however they want.
Second, Yes, they are physically children but their souls are much older. So tell me, if you were born and raised by an abusive mother, whom beat and tortured you for your entire life, would that not effect your mental health? If you were aware that you are being tortured and abused but could not do anything about it Because you were a weak child, would that not effect your mental health? People's mental wellness can deteriorate over time if they do not stimulate themselves. If you are just going day by day, wondering if you're going to get beaten that day or if you'll be able to get something to eat, that takes a toll on you. People can only be mentally strong for so long before they tire out. We can only take so much stress on our own before it starts to effect us and we need to seek out help. But what if there is no help to be given?

I'm sick and tired of people judges the MC's for being childish even though their souls are that of an adult. Like they went through more than the average person does, not to mention that they also had to come to terms with their death in their previous life.
Idk if any of this made sense, I'm tired.

My point wasn't that they're childish. My point was why make them 23 if that doesn't even play into the story. I wouldn't mind nor question if they were children or act like children if they MCs didn't keep throwing into our faces their age.

First off, since they were abused, i find it very frustrating that they trusted the Duke, the Duke's son, and Riolu sooo quickly. You would think they'd be more wary considering their past. But the author hand waved that because they are children. Children are more trusting and they were starving for allies. And yet these are adults. Why still so naive? Perhaps the novel is better, but there's just so much inconsistencies of their characterization.
