Yeah this scene supposed to happen much later but I remember that the emperor says this sentence when he got drugged by rose not at the party so I say that probably the webtoon is not following thoroughly with the novel. I also remember the scene where the empress eavesdropping rose and january and then the emperor come to bring her scarf was not originally from the novel. I think in the webtoon the emperor falls in love with the empress faster than the novel...but I could be wrong since I've read this ages ago.
Sorry... I finished reading this long time ago so I don't remember the exact chapters but I think it is after the king's birthday celebration but before rose's second attempt of killing the empress prolly
This webtoon slighlt different than the novel in the season 2 imo
for example, in here when the emperor says to the empress that "you're probably the only wife that will send her husband to the concubine" happens at the party, but in the novel it happens at the garden after the emperor was given alcohol that contains aphrodisiac by Rosemud because Rosemud wants to have the emperor's baby. The emperor who has already in love in with the empress runs away and met the empress in the garden while still horny because of the aphrodisiac. The empress then says go to Rosemud and the Emperor replies, "you're probably the only wife that will send her husband to the concubine". So in here "send to the concubine" meaning s3x not just a company. Anyway, the Empress ended up sleep with the emperor out of duty as an empress. Cause if Emperor doesn't have s3x he can't calm down. It is officially become their first night.
There are also many other variations that is different to the novel so maybe the spoiler that I've been given before may be different later when put into the webtoon. They are probably try to make this kids friendly idk...
