What I don't understand is, if the grandpa already knew that the sons and the grandsons were dumb, why did they inherit the Lombardy title anyways in the past life? Before dying, he even acknowledged that Tia was the most capable of all.

    Because nobody is worthy of the name anymore so he had no choice. And its too late for Tia because she didnt have enough support and influence established to make her the head in an instant. He realized it too late on his death bed when he is too powerless and when his first son already took over

    I think it's because my husband, Gallahan (my softy husband), died in the past, which means Tia, who was called a half blood has no one to support her. Her cousins who is (I'd like to insult them but there are too many words of insult that fits them), have their own father to support them. And after reading so many Aristocratic novels (that gives me idea of how a noble mindset works), many would oppose Tia inheriting the Lombardy title, since she (as far as I remember) hasn't showed up in any large event to socialize.     Who take after their own fathers, greedy and careless seized the situation to inherit the title. (I guess I'm making up my own theory, but I'm basing on what I read, anddddd, I don't think I will spoil anyone since I'm not reading any raws. But if I did, I'll kindly edit my comment)
