I think the same way in this chapter he didn’t understand a phrase Minjun used that maybe he’s not fully fluent or that Minjun uses slang that he doesn’t know. So in that previous chapter Minjun probably also used an uncommon phrase or slang so he truthfully didn’t understand in that moment.
Well according to the Novel translator Minjoon’s way of speaking is really difficult to understand/follow along, so maybe that’s what Daiki meant when he said he couldn’t understand Minjoon?
