A baby boy comes from incest and this is too keep the bloodline pure, however the taran male also breeds with a third party producing a young girl and the process repeats

And why does Hue think that it’s impossible for Lucia to have his child? I mean what are the conditions for outsiders to be impregnated by Tarans? Just consuming that special herb for a while?

He only knew that in order to conceive child.. The Taran have to do it with their own siblings.. Then.. If they want to have child with non-Taran, the nin-Taran have to drink blood (this is Philip's lie to Hue)..but the truth is the non-Taran have to take mugwort herb..the one lucia had that cause her not to menstruate..

Hue wants the Taran bloodline to end with him, it was one of the reasons he married her. The Tarans bloodline has a history of being descendants of freaky warriors I think I’m not sure. What she consumed was mugwort and it’s a natural birth control and She can get pregnant like a natural human would. But because she consumed the plant she can’t unless she makes the cure for it. It’s not impossible for outsiders to carry a Taran. But incest is what keeps the bloodline pure, the Taran girl and boy (bro and sis) have a kid together which will be a son. The Taran man than gets a non Taran woman pregnant to give birth to a girl. The boy from the siblings of Taran than later on marries and breeds with his sister from another mother. I HOPE THIS MALES SENSE!!

So we know that the Tarans must commit incest in order to bore a boy. This is where the fucked up part came up in Hue’s past and the doctor’s fanatical involvement within it - he somehow managed to get Hugo to have sex and give birth (to Damien) with a Taran woman that seemed to be raised solely for that purpose (so like yes...! Inhumane much).

On the other hand, there is also a specific ritual that the woman of non-taran blood must follow in order to get pregnant - they must have eaten mugwort until they stopped having their period, and then eat a special medicine made by the doctor (recipe passed down from generations) to have their period again - so this process changes their chemistry inside or something and allows them to be impregnated by a Taran (to have a girl). Because this process is highly dangerous, Hue is right to think that there’s no way Lucia would be pregnant simply like that! Of course he doesn’t know that Lucia already low-key already did half of that process... (how convenient for the plot xD).
