One panel shows how Hyesung hold Byul's hand and squeeze it. I think it was very symbolic, like he's telling Byul he'll be okay and that Byul doesn't need to worry. I think the reason why Hyesung unintentionally "avoided" Byul is that he doesn't want his own circumstances to affect the child. Like he was trying to deal with the pain alone so that people around him won't suffer or so he thought because he was causing everyone to worry. My point is that simple squeezing of hand is enough proof that he really miss his son but isn't ready to open up yet. He don't want his traumatic past shape and influence his present self to the point that he might do something bad again to Byul like for once he left him right? But really he really wants help and cannot properly express what kind of help he needs. There a lot of people like him and some succumb to the depression and end in suicide cases. I really hope he can patch up the holes in his self.
