Oh my dear, let me explain my point of view. I read yaoi/shounen ai or romance in general for something called “escapism”. In short, I read these for me to escape from the reality, which is my life. It may sound depressing but it isn’t, its quite common, but many people don’t realize it, if they have never asked themselves why they do what they do.

The romantic aspect for me is very important but the sexual aspect is as important as well. Its the same thing as watching hentai or any pornographic media, its not that I pleasure myself with it, but I am rather happy to see and read things like that.

And if I were only here to read about the intercourse of two men, what would be wrong with it?

I just like the romantic aspect and seggs belongs to it as well, just like you said. If there were good stories with a hetero couple I ofc would read it too, but there aren’t many unfortunately.
