Haha what the hell? Grooming? You act like a 18 year old is a fucking child. You're an adult when your 18. You can get married, buy alcohol, drive a car, get married, vote. A 18 year old is not in anyway a child. If you think an 18 year old is a child then that's something seriously wrong with the society you live in.
And 30 isn't that old. Do you seriously believe that just because we get over 30 we are so mature and proper?
It's an individual thing. Some 18 year old are more mature than some 40 year olds.
ikr
And it's so disgusting how these people say "he waited". The fact is that he lusted after him so I don't even know why he bothered waiting? He might as well have gone all the way. In real life, the few men who "wait" only do it because they don't want to be in trouble with the law. Here, it's used as a common yaoi trope to make us think that the seme is so patient and sweet (and it's working smh).
Bruh, I ain't here to argue. Ya'll clearly have your interpretation of this story. Cool it's 'aight. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
You do know that you can most of Europe is 17 and some places its lower.
So excuse me if I can't see how Sejiro groomed the Uke (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜 not only was well aware of Sejiro's feelings towards, he asked him to clarify. And what's in God's good name do you mean that "men who wait only do it because they don't want to be in trouble with the law". That to me is disgusting, please give and perpetuate that sort of bullshit else where.Σ( ̄□ ̄||)
I really think a lot of it is the age of this website skews younger. When you're a teenager it feels normal to be attracted to adults and so age gaps don't seem shocking. Then a few years into adulthood you realise that highschool students seem like babies and there is no way you would ever date someone that young.
In my second year of university I realised I would feel a bit weird about dating a highschooler even though the age gap was tiny, and almost everyone I knew felt the same. Development 18-25 is huge. I'm not saying that there couldn't be a consensual relationship but not one with this textbook grooming.
this was exactly my issue with this manga (like yeah i know is not real so whatever right?) you can still enjoy this type of content but be aware of the things that are happening please. I feel like most of the people defending the character's behaviour are young? when i was a teenager i also wanted to date "cool adults" but now that i'm in my mid 20's all highschoolers seem like babies lol.
So yeah, it was a cute story i guess but i had this icky feeling all the way thru it.
P.S. Also please stop using the argument that in some countries the legal age for an adult is "x" cause that's just a law, a person still needs to develop emotionally and physically regardless of the age your country says you're a grown up.
I am close to forty and I absolutely don't agree with you. I went to university just one year ago with people that was 20 and they are not children. On the contrary, they were very much adults.
It's perhaps a cultural thing because it seems like some cultures treat their 18-year-olds like little children. Ofc 18-year-olds will then act immature. Compared to countries that treat 18 year olds like adults.
That's the point I'm trying to get across... I started preparing my daughter for adulthood at 15 so when she graduated high school she was well equipped to deal with the world as well as make wise decisions for her future. Therefore if you don't prepaid your children for the world they will be weak willed and an easy target for predators. Their mindsets are all in how we parents raise them.
I guess it was the fact that the highschooler(who didn't have any dating or sexual experience) made the point multiple times that he saw the 32 yo as a big brother or family and that's why he felt confortable with him, and the moment he let his guard down the 32 yo made a move.
Maybe i'm just uncomfortable with
he IS grooming him, theres no defending that. The reason some of you think its justified is because the author is justifying it, and making out to be a cute heartwarming story. it doesn't matter if they wait until after high school, that is literally a manipulation tactic and a part of the grooming process. you can still read and enjoy the story, but don't ignore the fact that there is something morally wrong here
