About your comment saying that Ian being slapped was enjoyable and deserving. You can't expect Ian to arrange his thoughts, feelings, and actions in a blink of an eye. Take note, the kid was disliked by his og parents, sold off to a monster at an early age, starved, raped, beaten up all the while he's being made to do manual labor. He didn't even know how to read and write till Raymond taught him to do so. It was a NIGHTMARE. Considering what he all did and gave, Ian will mostly likely to fall inlove, NO CAP. Just like what he said to Nicholas: "then what do you expect me to do?". Again, EVERYTHING WAS A FIRST TO HIM - love, jealousy, etc. He can't rearrange his thoughts yet because he loves Raymond GENUINELY, and so does Ray BUT they have their individual situations esp. Ray. It's an unjustifiable death of a parent and that alone is very traumatic and enraging. You have to understand their situation 'cause it's not all flowers and butterflies, you have to be careful about your next move in your lifelong plan. Nicholas most probably slapped Ian out of frustration from a friend because he's thinking that I don't want to see you like this (being hurt) anymore BUT it was in NO WAY ENJOYABLE AND DESERVING. Even Nicholas apologized after that happened.

for a character who still has no development of loving himself, that slap was bound to happen because uke's is losing his mind and his health is in no good condition because of ray...he's gone blindsided af which is why out love and frustration, nicholas slapped him...i completely understand uke's upbringing and his trauma but someone just has to give it to him...personally, I ENJOYED that scene because nicholas' action gave me that kind of quick break or relief from the prolonged toxic relationship of the two...

well to start off, some people just like drama. raymond hasnt raped ian or done anything EXTREMELY morally wrong which means im still here for redemption. theres absolutely nothing wrong with people who dislike raymond (no idea why people hate ian) and expressing that in the comments. i dont know if youre a fan of raymond or rather a fan of the story but p.s, its possible to dislike characters but love the story.
