The other way to fulfill his desire is probably ducking her blood or semxy time. She is very young compared to him and has developed a sense of protection when it comes to her like the Wyvern with their young. He is saying that her safety and happiness come before his desires and he doesn't want to let her know that there is such an option to fulfill his desires cause she might do it cause it's "logical"(⌒▽⌒)
