I agree and disagree with you. Ibelin is a narcissist by nature. On one hand if she was empathetic then even if she felt good by people's attention, her protective instincts owuld jump in whenever someone was in trouble because of her. Instead she clearly stated that she protected them, because that's what good friends do, not out of concern, but because that is what is expected of her to do. So when she grows shady it's because her needs are not been met by the usual behaviour o f people around her. If she was still empathetic she would have ignored the sting of not being the centre of attention and continue to do her job. But she went out of her way to attempt to gaslight Latte, even when she was not in the wrong in that library incident. Yeah Ibelin's probably someone you should stay away from.
I kinda get where Ibeline is coming from. She's lived her entire life in a world that was literally created for her. (At least that's what it seems like the author of the novel did) I don't think she means to be a bitch, it's just that her entire reality is changing around her and she has no idea how to react or adapt to the situation. She's not your typical attention whore, she doesn't seem like she necessarily wants Arwins attention she just expects it because that's how the world had worked up until that point.
I don't think how she's reacting is right, but I can kind of see why someone would react that way. Plus it doesn't seem like she's actually done anything bad to Latte, at least not yet.
