Its really hard to think about nocton with understanding because he broke a trust she had and manipulated her. Yes, he did it for her BUT she doesn't know that and tbh even if she did he still broke major trust by brainwashing her.
Right now she can't even trust her own memories and is going through a whole existential crisis all caused by the one she believed to trust the most.
He can't brainwas her. He thinks he has but he had never been able to. He is afraid she is only with him because of that. If anything she is more the manipulator.
She doesn't know that he can't. Also even he says that i don't think her trust will back since he brainwashed innocent people too. More ver, he didn't even treated her like friend before and often humiliated her. İ wouldn't trust him either
And he doesn't know he cant either. Considered how his mom often tries to kill him and the ppl around him treat him. It only took fl to try and be his friend to encourage him to do better. Considering she drank her potions to remember every detail of whatver should have probably realized it too. Like "oh, that memory when he told me to so and so and I was like, lol no" There is a clear difference between those who are manipulated with black magic and those who havent.
First she doesn't even know whether he sees him as a friend or toy. He never made it clear. Second the one that drink potion was his mother not female lead i guess. Still even though she knew she has immunity or she didn't hypnotized , she will be never sure that he didn't try it. İ wouldn't trust the one who hypnotized pretty much everybody, treated me like shit and suddenly acts weirder. Don't forget that he never expressed his feelings or any proper emotions towards her. Also his actions didn't help either.fl tried her best to understand him during his childhood but he never get it easier for her
