In Asian countries, Academics are very competitive. The higher your score and grade the more likely you are to be accepted into a good college or university. Colleges only have limited slots and are hella expensive so many people are fighting for scholarships and slots. So in order to lessen the competitors, people report them. Also cheating in exams is as unfair as getting killed in 2nd place by someone using an aimbot in a battle royale
Except cheaters DO implicate you. Imagine studying really hard to get a good grade only to find out someone got the same grade (or better) cheating. It’s your choice to cheat- don’t expect people to be happy with it. Some people do cheat cos they’re desperate and you can sometimes sympathise with that but it doesn’t make what they did any less wrong. Especially because there is help available for flunking students and at uni level you get multiple resits and some students get to repeat multiple years if they have mental health/etc issues. Plus for flunking high school students there is college.
Even worse, he cheated to enter academy. He’s essentially stealing the spot of someone else who worked hard but didn’t get a grade as good as them so he’s directly stealing someone else’s spot.
It's my damn business. I'm doing it for my own sake. If you don't care fight for own ideals then who would? I'm not gonna pretend that I wouldn't be affected by it. I study hard for my exams. I take my grades very seriously. I wouldn't expect others to know how that feels, but to call me nosy is something else.
Rather than jealousy, it’s called being upset that someone is literally stealing someone else’s spot at uni/academy/work and essentially trampling on their hard work. Cheating doesn’t just have consequences for the person cheating. For every cheater that isn’t caught, there’s a hard working student that has their reward stolen. That’s part of why cheating is unethical and grants an automatic fail. Not to mention that you can cheat your way into places you are wildly unqualified for which will negatively impact even more people.
When you’re applying to an exclusive school? It’s definitely not just about passing. Maybe if you’re hoping to get into a college course that has 100% acceptance rate as long as you have a couple passes it won’t matter. But if, like in this story, you’re hoping to get into an exclusive academy which focuses on accepting only the best- cheaters will seriously affect a lot of people if they aren’t caught.
Because the pass requirements are too high for normal students. So no it’s not as simple as just passing- it’s about having the qualifications to attend and not waste everyone’s time. Also the school is probably going to have a ranking system which again is not as simple as just passing because ranking is seen as important. Obviously he hasn’t personally hurt me but neither has that girl hurt you so pot meet kettle. He’s an unfleshed side character- it’s highly doubtful his intentions are anything but selfishness.
Not the FL being a fucking snitch. Why would you do that shit
