That could be it. But usually when manhuas have that 0th chapter where they talk about what the charecters are gonna say in the future I mean some of their future dialogs, its usually addopted from a novel
Sentinel/guide! I’ve only ever seen this in chinese bl novels. Im not sure about the world building in this one but normally sentinel are very powerful and strong physically, but as they get older their mind will be in a very chaotic state. They can get veryyy violent to the point of killing other ppl.
So guide serves as the one who help to cleanse their mind from having those violent thoughts.
(Well in the novels sentinel usually marries the guide cause its easier tht way. They can connect spiritually(?) if im not mistaken lol)
