I think at this point, people should stop wishing for a character development. He could be nicer in the future but he would never regret what he did and that's definelty not I would called a character development. He may have traumas but now he's just rotten and super toxic. Just because he does the bare minimum, doesn't mean he wouldn't be toxic anymore. If he doesn't regret what he has done, then it wouldn't be a character development. And I'm pretty sure he would never. He surely would justify his actions by implying he had feelings for him or something ( and this is pure bullshit btw)
