me too, my dad listens more than my mom and im a lot closer to him bc of it. i hope you can find a parent figure to rely on and connect to or even just someone to be there for you
In my group of friends, I'm the only one that has a good relationship with my mother.
When I tell them something I have done for my mother, or something that she has done for me, they ask "Why, what did you/she do wrong for that?"
I feel really lucky to have the type of mother that listens, guides and supports your choices, either correct or wrong.
The rest of my friends mothers' are: One tried to abort her, and hated her for surviving, the other prefered boys, the other thought she was an ungrateful piece of sh*t and passed her a receipt of all the money that she had "invested" in her to give it back. And she is paying it back. The last one, bought a house with her own money and her mother and grand-mother moved in and refused to pay any type of rent. They are on a legal battle so she can have them out of her house.
omg............that takes it to the extremes. i hope they find peace or just flat out leave their mothers
When i tell my mom my problems she just put all of the blame on me making me hate myself more.
That's why I can't acknowledge that I have a close relationship with my parents despite being their only daughter
