The thing is in her previous life she must’ve over thought the weapon her father gave have her, and why Maximillian was there.
The way I see it even in the past the father cared for her but couldn’t show it because of the current emperor, this is just a theory but I believe that what Maximmilian said in the Shadow Prison to the guard was just a lie and excuse to enter and protect Jubelian in order to not cause any suspicion from the emperor’s side.
It’s a theory but maybe after her death, as you can see, they do have the plan to overthrow the current scum emperor, but because of the fathers weakness (Jubellian) they waited for the right time and chance for her to not be held as blackmail by the emperor.
And her death was the breaking point of all these he had nothing to loose, so I think after that part in the previous life we’ll see a desperate, loss, and broken father finally overthrowing the emperor but loss what he loved most, and that was his daughter.
I can’t really explain everything going through my head, but in the last life it’s not that the father didn’t care for his daughter, it was just that he was holding back because of that damned emperor.
As you can see from the recent chapter, he’s had enough and I think he’s finally planning to just let it go and not care about showing his weakness (Jubellian) and decided to openly show his affection and doesn’t give a damn about the emperors warnings and blackmailing.
Let’s not go on another hate bandwagon lmao, and the weapon from the last life (the one her father gave her before she entered the shadow prison) it must’ve either be a hidden messag for the crown prince to know it has his daughter or as a form of safety mechanism.
But the previous jubellian misunderstood it as her father giving up on her, and it was an indirect way for her to kill herself.
And the thing the past Maximmilian said to the guard, he probably did not mean that and instead it was a way to not cause suspicion on his true goal (which was probably to protect jubellian as his teacher’s daughter) (also the father may have asked Maximillian to do that) and you can see when Jubellian killed herself the prince was shocked and tried to stop her. (She misunderstood everything he said because she believed that nobody cared for her in these world, and shocked by the fact that even her father has lost faith in her, she probably did not have the right mind to think properly on the situation)
Everything I’ve said is just a theory I haven’t read the novels or the raws, but I think I’m kinda right in the most part since it’s a common plot-twist in reincarnation historical novels.
In short, it’s just one big cluster-fuck of misunderstandings
It was honestly stupid on both Max and the father's parts. Even if the father was unaware that she'd misunderstand, having "the princess's brother" go in to "torture" her when she doesn't even know he's her father's disciple? No SHIT she's gonna kill herself to avoid torture. Like, both of them are 100% aware of Max's reputation, but they think it's a good idea to give her a knife and have him talk about how he's gonna kill her while she's ten feet away? They didn't think this through well lmao.
EXACTLY, the lack of communication is killing me. Like why cant he carve something on the knife like “You’ll be safe” or something or put a small note just so that she knows the reason why he’s giving her that knife. The message he’s trying to give is too ambiguous and I totally understand why the mc did that..I totally agree with flamingcunt10’s theory and I just think that it’s so freaking sad if you think about it.......FUCK I’M ALL DEPRESSED NOW AHHAHA
Can somebody please explain what was the reason why her dad all of a sudden became lovey dovey? I mean all her life, she was ignored and now out of the blue her dad became annoyingly clingy. Please enlighten me ( ・﹏・)
