I think the author is trying to create a story showing the protagonist made a mistake which is getting closer to Nocton only to be bamboozled that it’s the other way around. Meaning Duroa thinking it’s a mistake is actually not a mistake - double bamboozled! I confused af too lmao
The more I read this the more I hate Duroa.. she has so much knowledge she’s loved two lives TWO WHOLE LIVES and the Trollope can’t even sit down and listen to someone she stalked for years and I use the term stalked lightly she approached him but everything that goes wrong is no his fault smh
