nah, he wasn't toxic and i think he handled the situation pretty good actually. let's be real, irl if that stuff were to happen to you and u see ur gf/bf accepting something from someone who hit on her/him you prolly would have handled that situation much worse than how kotaro did. people are saying that 'it's just a card' but that card was given with MOTIVE and INTENTION so it's not something entirely innocent at all. altho!!! we also gotta give masako a learning curve and understand that she's new to this thing and made that mistake unintentionally. it's good that they communicated and made up at the end tho and didn't prolong the argument and it's good that kotaro was able to communicate effectively about what and how he felt abt the situation and masako's actions bc if he just kept to himself it would have turned into resentment

Yea I kinda get that but im on her side but for the opposite reason. Im pretty sure japan has a HUGE importance around business cards, and it isn't really something to receive lightly. So my guess is that she treated the card like she would anyone else giving it to her.

Not to mention she had no idea what the dude was say (since he was speaking english) so there was no real reason for her to understand he was hitting on her.

Slight correction on my part, I forgot at the end of the last chapter he asked her out and she wasn't given time to respond. Tho I still think it was too harsh to blame alot of it on her, sure its important to talk these things out but he vocalized everything she could have done better and only thought out what he could of changed to himself

Nah, the fact that she reflected on it and thought about how it would feel if the roles were reverse make this logic about business cards irrelevant. The random stranger was clear with his intentions, I just thought she froze and dint respond because it not a common occurrence to her. The way they deal with this incident was very mature, and I'm glad they voiced it out, and were able to talk it out as well. That's the right way to do it.
