I don't think so. Because that couple have finished their plot role. They were just senior who want to stop that disaster won't happen again. And it did but at least they die together.

AND i disagree ;-; first because that'd make me sad, and second because it'd be bad writting just killing characters that are not usefull to the plot, the author's better than that! I hope...
Some author are interested to write tragedy cause it make painful for reader but memorable at the same time. Like how " 10 years i love you the most" is totally memorable in fan base
BUT WHY?!?!?! WHY DID THEY DIE WHY
They were supposed to grow old together and and go on more adventures a-and have tea parties with the main charas... ..I am so sad
