The translationa were really bad in the first few chapters, but Rael actually transmigrated from another world and had no idea what to do. Daniel finds him and picks him up while also giving him his name, Rael. That's why Rael is so attached to Daniel. It's like a baby chick imprinting on the first person they see, or in Rael's case, the first person who approached him kindly.
