Yeah, I didn’t think it was that bad at first and took the second read through to realize 704 was bleeding from the neck and San had tried sucking him like a vampire. But yes! I’d like to see more of caring boyfriend Geumsun please! Did the side effects make sense to you? Super confused about that part.
I was shocked to see the bandage on 704's neck too... What I learn from all of this is that none of the 4 characters had an easier life than the other... They're all essentially Yama's pawns to win over Hwan.
Hmm it’s not confirmed yet but maybe drinking reaper blood is like a drug for goblins? Which is why it’s ‘illegal’ in the underworld as mentioned in previous chapters
Yes! Agree with you 100% on everyone being Yama’s pawn. They’ve all got it pretty bad. Though I’m a little more heartbroken for Geumsun. It’s pretty sad when you hear it from Yama. When the Northerners tell him their King could no longer help because “he said he had no reason to patiently put his trust in goblins when all they did was take dangerous risk to little effect”, Yama responds “Think about it. Depending on the circumstances, don’t you think Geumsun would make the ideal bait? …He is the sort who is prepared to throw himself away for that purpose if needed. But if not Geumsun, who? Who can do this work?”¹
Yama knows Geumsun is willing to do anything to kill Hwan and has no qualms about using him. He’s Yama’s biggest weapon. Even while being the chosen martyr he’s looked down upon by all of the underworld and those he is doing all this to protect are suspicious of him and distrusting.
Geumsun told San “The human memory is not like that of a goblin. It’s not eternal. Time disintegrates it, and sometimes, the human will is strong enough to make them forget. […] Forgetfulness. That is the privilege of humanity. They’re blessed with it. […] You have also been blessed. […] With the gift of oblivion.”² The others get to escape their pain but Geumsun has to live with it for all of eternity and he has absolutely no one in his corner besides Yama (who honestly can’t even count). How lonely! :(

As if all the flashbacks and timelines were not hard enough to keep track of, I take it chapter 61 is San recalling to Eunjae two different instances with Geumsun and 704 in the past regarding Yang and he thinks he’s a bad person because he accidentally hurt 704? When did these two conversations happen? It’s both in the living room of Geumsun’s new place but was this pre-Eunjae? Post-Eunjae? I’m trying to keep a timeline of events but l’m close to losing it. I miss 704’s death glare. It’s extra cute when he directs it at Geumsun. Idk why San is falling into a shame spiral rn with everything else going on but I guess I too would not want a united 704 and Geumsun looking at me like disappointed parents like that. Still working on so many thoughts and replies I got carried away with from the last update but will be starving for content with the long break til 62 so give me all your raw reacts pls.
