I don't know about others, but for me, harem is usually really annoying because the women are just bland, their only goal is to get the man of their dreams for themselves, no personality or as I said, getting that man into bed is already just a part of their personality. There are some parts in this where it's close to it, mostly in the periods of peace, in-between as a little distraction from the bad things happening around, but I feel like all of them are actually capable and really, no matter who you ship him with it is very likely that it is canon, at least from the women of course. The harem itself doesn't become a huge part of the story, it just builds up and blooms at the end-end of it or at the very least very close to the end. He sleeps around with them still in chapter 482, so the official harem comes in later.
Also I'm sorry for such a long message, I just really think that SCOG deserves a lot of attention and reads, because it's actually amazing. Character development, is going hard in it, the changes they undergo as people makes me so proud even though it's just fiction. If you wanna talk some more about SCOG or novels/manhwas similar to it, feel free to hit me up on discord: ThatOnePerson#0184

I haven't read that far into the novel but for me all the women are admirable and have good personalities, or are interesting characters by themselves. And its not like there entire goal in life is to get this one guy. Overall they are well written characters. Im not a fan of harems but I found this one okay.
Do yourself a favor if you have only read the manhwa of this then try and read the novel as well. With the second coming of a season, which is already looking better than the whole of first one (Ian, Dylan, Chohong, they are all staying true to their character for now and Seol is starting to look more Seol-like, so a good thing), you really want to try and read the novel from the beginning. Season 1 skipped out on extremely important parts of the last training arc (I forgot what it was called) and also on some characters.
The novel is so well-written and fun to read, season 1 of SCOG as a manhwa is just really sad. It is entertaining enough, but it can never bring you the true beauty of the novel. It is one of those special novels where you *will* cry all of your tears out. Truly amazing
