Probably someone is playing god in this story too. Who though? It could be Hide for that matter( I could be very wrong). Usually the innocents around the main character are the ones who do stuff like this, you know like using reverse psychology on Kaneki by implying that he doesn't have a chance with Rize therefore causing the fighting spirit and he was always there until he wasn't anymore (POOF!). Sh*t he could be the master mind behind V and the scaffolding killing Rize (convenient organ donor). End point I kind of just want Hide to be alive tbh.

I get what you mean, Nasuchan. It would be nice if Hide is alive. But the last screen with him and Kaneki was placed in a way that it was possible that Hide let Kaneki eat him for his friend to survive. But it's just EATING and not totally devouring. So I know he could be somewhere out there, either human or not. coz they never found and traces of him in those tunnels. if you were eaten by a ghoul there would still be traces left like blood, etc. but who knows who hide will reappear in this story.

I see that last scene was very confusing and open to a ton of speculation, I guess that might have been the mangakas intention. But Hide was mostly just bleeding so you are right he should probably be out somewhere there.

The mere thought that Hide is the mastermind behind all this drama surrounding Kaneki gives me the chills. This theory is extremely interesting and I hadn't even considered that. It is true that the characters that seem sweet and innocent often have secret agendas. With this theory, Hide's obsession with ghouls would thus be explained and him following Kaneki arround, providing comfort and support in dire situations may just as well be a way to nurture and care for Kaneki's latent abilities. This is very interesting indeed but there is a slight problem. In the anime Hide is definitely dead, unless, someone pulls the rabbit out of the hat and revives him. In the case that Hide is the actual mastermind, I would literally have to re-read everything because in that case, this manga is a true piece of art. Thanks for the thought! ヾ(☆▽☆)

@°ηυrεhα° , hi nureha, if you are talking about the anime from tg:va, it's actually an alternate storyline that ishida-sensei wanted for the anime. the story in the manga is different. kaneki met hide in the tunnels and hide was telling kaneki to run for it for safety or something. the anime is not canon so hide could be somewhere out there.

Oh man! This is quite the theory though and your take on it is quite awesome. I hope I'm not throwing things out there that will be very far from the truth, but I guess this is the fun in reading an incomplete work. @Yaoicraze , Amon has not been explicitly mentioned yet in the manga. But there is a ghoul who is eating other ghouls and I think that could be our Amon. sigh. it would be a great scene if ghoul/amon and dove/sasaki/kaneki met and fought. it's like a reversal of the past.

I don't get why Amon would be alive and a ghoul... His death was not shrouded in mystery as opposed to Hide's... Is there any concrete evidence that he may still be alive? Have I missed something?

@°ηυrεhα° , nureha, amon's body was never found. but it was reported that he was severely injured after his fight with 'centipede' (kaneki). so the ccg assumed that he was already dead because there was no way that he would survive based on his reported injuries. but then again, his body was never found.

so for me, no body, no absolute proof of death. even that other investigator dude who they thought was dead turned into a ghoul. (ugh, i forgot his name). so the possibily of amon being that cannibal ghoul is, well, possible.

Hmm... It was a long time since I read Amon's death... What you said sure does sound plausible. I think I may have to re-read everything again XD

Don't you think it'll be awesome if Ishida sensei knew English and came to these forums to throw out just a few theories and laugh at us? Or maybe to find out what WE think for ideas on how to draw out the next plot line. I think if I was a mangaka I'd do this just for kicks, but I also think mangakas dont really have much time to spend here ne?

Oh yeah that's true :D they'll probably have the site shutdown. Though most of the mangas that I've ever bought were because I started reading them online. Things like Whistle and HunterxHunter. We just have to support mangas we love like if they sold TG here I'll be like take my money, but they don't so...ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
