After some near death experiences that happened to Penelope, the dad began to realize that he really cares for her and officially moved on from Yvonne (real daughter) is trying to act more like a father figure towards her (even told Derrik to start treating like her sister) but Penelope is still hung up on how badly she was abused and treated for the past 7 or so in the house and is trying her best to distance herself from them because she wants to run away in the near future.
