Ren grows up throughout the story, if I'm not mistaken he's around 16 years old right now, but do keep in mind that the age difference remains.

Nah,in recent chapter hes already a highschooler.with 8 age gape (if im not mistaken) it's not a shotacon.BUT maybe it's kinda disturbing for some people coz ren still look like 6th grader
